📶 High School Musical is coming to Salford this summer

Get your head in the game, East High is coming to The Lowry! 🥳🎉

High School Musical on Stage lands at The Lowry Theatre this August for a four-week run, and the lineup they've put together is super exciting.

Playing Coach Bolton is Australian icon Jason Donovan and Ms Darbus - Disney royalty KayCee Stroh.

Troy and Gabriella will be played by Tobias Turley, winner of ITV's Mamma Mia! I Have a Dream, and Leonor Correia, a performer from SIX The Musical. The glamorous twins Sharpay and Ryan go to Caitlin Tipping and Luke Bayer, both well known from major West End productions.

There is an extended stage setup that brings the performance closer to the crowd, and a limited number of on-stage seats for anyone who wants to be right in the middle of the action. If you’ve got kids who grew up on this or if you did, it’s worth grabbing tickets sooner.

The Renew Community Fund has opened applications, with a total of £200,000 available in grants ranging from £1,000 to £20,000. The fund supports projects that reduce waste through reuse, repair, sharing and more.

The money comes from Renew Greater Manchester, the UK's largest reuse initiative, which takes items donated at recycling centres, fixes them up and sells them; then puts the proceeds back into community projects like this one.

Right on the line between Salford and Manchester sits Tangerine, and it's already shaping up to be one of the most interesting restaurants in the city.

During the day it runs as a food and coffee destination, with a handful of independent kitchen operators, a bakery and an in-house roastery all sharing the same space. Salford Youth Zone turns one, and you're all invited.

A year ago, Salford Youth Zone was launched to give young people in Salford a safe space to go. Twelve months on and over 6,000 young members have walked through those doors, taken on new activities, received free meals and accessed support when they needed them most.

This Saturday, they are celebrating that first year in style, and the whole community is welcome. There'll be a full day of family-friendly activities, partner-led workshops and live performances for free.

As Salford marks its Centenary year, it feels fitting that a place investing so heavily in the city's youth gets a proper celebration. Come along and be part of it.
